JV partner collaboration

Bring partners into one bid. Only one.

Donor-funded bids are often delivered with joint-venture partners and subconsultants. BidderOps lets you invite them into exactly one bid, at the access level you choose, with no view of anything else.

Scoped to a single bid

A partner sees the one opportunity they were invited to. Your pipeline, analytics, AI tools and other bids stay out of view.

Three access levels

View only, upload, or comment. Each level includes the one before it, so you decide how much a partner can add.

Enforced by the database

Access is checked on every query, not just hidden in the interface. Without a valid invite, a partner cannot read the bid at all.

How inviting a partner works

From an opportunity’s Team tab, invite a partner by email and choose a permission level. The partner receives an invite link, and accepting it gives them an account scoped to that single bid. Internal team members sit on the same tab with their bid roles, so everyone working on the proposal is visible in one place. Before you invite anyone, our guide to forming a JV covers the consortium rules and what to agree with partners.

What partners can do at each level

  • View only: read the bid’s overview, documents and notes.
  • Upload: everything above, plus upload documents such as CVs, references and their share of the technical proposal.
  • Comment: everything above, plus add notes to the bid.

What partners never see

A partner works in a restricted portal for the bid they were invited to. They do not see your pipeline, your analytics, the AI tabs, your experience library, or any other opportunity. That matters when today’s partner is tomorrow’s competitor on a different tender.

Why database-level isolation matters

Many tools hide data in the interface and trust that nobody looks further. In BidderOps, every read is checked by the database itself: a partner can read an opportunity only when a valid invite explicitly links them to it. The same boundary keeps each organization’s data separate from every other organization’s.

One organized record of the bid

Documents are filed in four categories (RFP documents, your submission, clarifications, and award or debrief material), notes are timestamped per user, and the activity log records document changes, notes and team edits, so you always know who added what.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What can a JV partner see?

Only the bid they were invited to: its overview, documents and notes, depending on their permission level. They cannot see your pipeline, analytics, AI tabs, experience library or any other opportunity.

Can partners upload their own documents?

Yes, with the Upload or Comment permission. View-only partners can read the bid’s overview, documents and notes but cannot add to them.

How is partner access enforced?

At the database level. A partner can read an opportunity only when a valid invite links them to it, so access does not depend on the interface hiding anything.

Does this work for subconsultants and consortium members too?

Yes. Any external firm you team with on a single bid can be invited the same way, at the access level that suits their role.
